Gardening Club with Latino Outdoors

Description

Latino Outdoors (LO) inspires and connects comunidades to the outdoors, centering cultura, celebrating familia and heritage, and uplifting our history and leadership as part of the outdoor experience.

Join LO Volunteer Leader & Riverside Park Steward, Stephanie Caban, the last Friday of every month to care for the land at Fort Washington Park! Learn about edible plants, different wildlife and pollinators in the area, and the ways that nature in public spaces contribute to our wellbeing! We’ll enjoy the morning together weeding and removing introduced species with loppers and shovels, and mulching down the area to prepare for fall planting, swapping stories, and munching on some tasty treats! Beginners are welcome, and this is a great opportunity for those looking to enjoy their Summer Fridays outside doing some good for the land! Feel free to join us for one and/or all of the volunteer days! All participants must be 18 years old or older.
